We are often asked the same questions by people about our cleaning services. We have prepared this list of common cleaning questions to hopefully help you with your decision to use Fleur Marrigold.

Is there a minimum contract?

If you wish to try our cleaning service then we can offer you a one time comprehensive professional cleaning service with no further obligation. All we expect from you is to give clear instructions about the type of cleaning service you require and for prompt payment.

Are you insured?

Yes we have fully comprehensive public liability cover. Our insurance policy will cover any accidental damages to your property caused by any of our cleaners. Our policy will also cover theft & key loss.

How do you ensure the reliability & honesty of your staff?

We check all references provided by our cleaning staff. If she or he can not provide verifiable references we do not offer them work. We take extra care when tracing each applicants history, it would only reflect badly on Fleur Marrigold if we didn't ensure our staff where honest & reliable. Our reputation is on the line.

What is included in your cleaning service?

In all rooms.

  • remove cobwebs
  • clean internal facings of all windows
  • clean window frames & sills
  • clean all woodwork including doors, frames & skirting
  • clean radiators & pipework
  • clean lights, fittings, switches & sockets
  • vacuum carpets
  • mop hard floors

Furnished rooms.

  • remove items from surfaces, clean & replace items
  • move items of light furniture, clean underneath & behind then replace.
  • clean inside cupboards, drawers & wardrobes
  • upholstery removed & vacuumed

In kitchen & utility room.

  • clean tops, fronts & internal facings of cupboards & drawers (we only clean empty cupboards & drawers)
  • clean & degrease tiling & splash backs
  • degrease extractor (fibre replacement filters not included)
  • clean hob & rings
  • clean work surfaces
  • clean sink & taps (descale as much as possible)
  • clean inside of oven, including shelves, door & seal
  • strip out & clean inside of fridge, freezer, clean & replace trays
  • clean soap dispenser & door on washing machine
  • clean door, rim's & seal on dishwasher (remove filter & clean)
  • clean door & filter on dryer

Bathroom & Cloakroom

  • clean & descale tiles
  • clean & descale shower screen, head, pipes & fittings
  • clean & descale taps, fittings & surrounds
  • clean bath
  • clean & descale sink
  • clean & descale WC (including exterior pipes & sink)
  • polish mirrors
  • clean inside vanity unit

All surfaces are dried to remove wipe marks & all chrome is finished using microfibre cloths to improve the shine. All surfaces will be cleaned with a product of  a sweet smelling nature, which leaves the property not only grease free but also with a pleasant aroma.

What is the amount of time required to terminate a contract?

You can terminate the cleaning contract by giving 14 days notice in writing.

I am moving home, can I have the same cleaner at my new home?

We will endeavour not to change your cleaner if you are moving home. This does of course depend on the area you are moving to. If the cleaner lives to far away we would provide another cleaner. We would like to have as much notice as possible so that we could arrange for you to meet the new cleaner & for you to be happy with the service provided in your new home.

Who pays the cleaner?

Our company policy is that you pay us & we pay the cleaner. Using this system of payment avoids any penalties & claims being lodged against you by the Inland Revenue if you were to pay the cleaner direct. We ask for a weekly or fortnightly payment either by standing order, BACS or cash paid prior to, or on the day of, the clean.

When confirming a booking for larger jobs a deposit of £50 is now required. This deposit is regretfully required, as we have in the past been let down. Before commencement of the job a proforma invoice will be sent with all of the relevant banking details.

Are there any agency fee's or hidden costs?

No, none at all. We do not charge a monthly or yearly fee, agency fee or commission. There are no hidden costs or charges. Our service is charged per hour or at a fixed price per property. All prices are subject to VAT at 20%.

Do I have to pay anything when I go on holiday?

No you do not have to pay us anything as long as you give us 2 weeks notice, the date you require your last clean before you go & the date you would like us to start your cleaning again on your return.

Do you guarantee your services?

Yes we promise that if you are not satisfied with the result from a job then we will come back & redo the clean free of charge.

Are there a minimum number of hours required for a clean?

The minimum number of hours are 2 per cleaning visit.

Can I have a regular clean once a month?

Yes you can have a regular clean once a month. Our cleaners are looking for a steady income & we try to allocate them to clients who require weekly or fortnightly cleans. Because of this you may unfortunately not get the same cleaner on a regular basis.

Do you provide a replacement if my cleaner is on holiday or sick?

Yes we guarantee you a replacement cleaner who will continue the regular cleaning service at your home.

Please note if you don't require a replacement & wish to wait until your regular cleaner is back then please contact the office as soon as possible, so that we don't send a replacement cleaner.

Who provides the cleaning equipment & materials?

We provide all equipment & materials that are needed.

Can I specify the day of the week the cleaner comes?

We will make every effort to meet your requirements. If your request can not be met then we will endeavour to match the very next option.

How long will it take you to set up the cleaning service?

We try to arrange your cleaning service & meeting within 24 hours. Occasionally we may need a little extra time if your request is for a certain day. 

What are your cleaners working hours?

Times to suit your needs, the client comes first. We will endeavour to meet all your expectations, within reason.
